I believe a book is a very good choice for a companion. I guess a lot of people out there would agree to what I believe in.
I grew up with the passion of reading books. As a little girl I started to love books when my mother would read me fairy tales and bedtime stories to lull me to sleep. I just love hearing stories of Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel and the likes.
My mother admitted to me that when I was still in her tummy, she had started reading books for me while holding her tummy before she would go to sleep.

As I started going to school, books amazed me as soon as I started learning the alphabet and slowly began learning to read three letter words.
Thanks to phonetic sounds, it was easy for me to recognize the different sounds of the alphabet. I loved books at school especially when we would be made to write, color, and identify objects based on our lessons.

Growing up into my pre-teen years I started reading short novels which I would borrow from my classmates or from our school library. During break time I would be found in the library reading books or trying to find a good book which I can borrow, for me to read at home.

Going through high school, I began to realize the importance of books as we would be required by our teachers to make our home reading reports. We also began having research papers, where books play a significant role as references.
Isn’t it that our teachers use books as their references for the things that they discuss inside our classes too?

The more I progressed in school, the more books I had to carry with me. They become thicker and thicker each year, but I was not complaining. These were my references for my subjects in school. The things that our teachers discuss in class aren’t enough if we don’t read our books.

Whether we like it or not, books play a significant role in our lives. They mold us into better individuals, feed us with all the information we need and help us verify important factual data. Even before we start going to school, books already play an important role in our lives, and until we grow old and we have our own kids, whether we like it or not, they will continue to play an important role in our lives.
