Nutrition
The nutrition of our bodies plays a very important part in keeping us healthy. In order for us to be healthy and function optimally, we need to be properly nourished and this means intake of the right foods and supplements. There is no single food or supplement out there that will work solely as the best food or supplement to keep us going all day long. All the proper nutrients in the required daily allowance must be taken in and accompanied by daily exercises to keep us healthy.
It is very important to know all the basic types of nutrients that our bodies need to be healthy. The six nutrients are: fats, carbohydrates, proteins, minerals, vitamins and water. These nutrients must be balanced for the body to be properly nourished. It is not good to have more fats than proteins and vise versa.
As early as in preschool, children are oriented of the five major food groups to encourage them to eat these foods in balance. The five major food groups are: meats, grains, fats and oils, dairy products, fruits and vegetables.
Eating the right nutrients and foods is not enough to keep our bodies properly nourished. We need to incorporate exercise into it. Exercise will condition the organs in our body and tone muscle tissues. Eating the right food alone without exercise will not give us good nutrition and keep our bodies healthy. The same goes for exercise without eating the right food. Exercise must be done regularly.
A lot of people tend to be overweight or underweight because they have false concepts on nutrition. Some believe that merely eating every time we would feel hungry is enough. They are not aware that we must also consider the food that we take in. Some also have the habit of eating more than what must be taken in especially if they love the food they are eating. Regardless if this is high in fat and cholesterol. They usually do this without exercising. This is the reason why there are several obese people out there.
Obese people do not only suffer from insecurity because of their appearance but they may also have health problems. They are at risk of having heart diseases. If we love our bodies and we want to live longer, we must eat the right food and not be too lazy to exercise regularly.
