Woman's Health
Women have so many health concerns. Starting at the age of puberty, by the time they have their first menstruation; women begin experiencing changes in their bodies because of hormonal changes. Their breasts would enlarge and they begin to have their monthly menstrual cycle. This is also accompanied by some acne problems.
This is a very fragile stage as there are so many cases of unwanted teenage pregnancies that can sometimes lead to abortion. It is during this stage that they have to be guided properly by their parents to help them from getting into possible troubles. It is at this stage that they begin to explore their bodies and have so many questions in their minds. Parents must be prepared to answer such queries as honestly and precisely as possible.
As the breasts starts to grow larger, some teenagers may feel a little pain and a lump which will start to develop just below the nipple. There is nothing to worry as this is normal. Some parts of the body will also start to grow hair. In the pubic area, it will start with a very soft hair and this will grow thicker in time. Hair will also grow on the legs and underarms. Some would sort to shaving, but they have to make sure that they have their own razor and they do not share razors even with family members to avoid infections and razors must be cleaned properly after using.
Changes in the body are also highly visible as the hips would widen and the waistline would become smaller. The tummy and buttocks may also become larger. This does not mean though that you are getting fat. This is a normal development for teenagers. The hands, legs, arms and feet would also grow faster at this stage and this is why some teenage girls feel very awkward with their bodies.
Because of the hormonal changes especially during the monthly menstrual cycle, most teenage girls experience some emotional imbalance and they often feel depressed and irritable. There is nothing to worry about as this is caused by the hormonal changes and nothing is wrong with you emotionally.
It would be best for young ladies to have someone to talk to about their feelings at this stage. Someone who they can talk about the changes that are taking place in their bodies and who can freely open up with about their emotional mood swings which can be due to their hormonal changes.
