When I wake in the morning, I never have tinnitus. The noise gradually increases during the day. I ALWAYS get tinnitus after exercising; it can last for 30 minutes or 4 hours after exercising.
I travel frequently to the US and notice that I get it much less there. My blood pressure is NOT high (120/80) and has been this way since I can remember.
I am 49 years old. I have had a deviated septum since I was quite young. I don't suffer from allergies nor am I prone to colds.
I tend to have excess wax buildup in the ear that does NOT have tinnitus (I only have tinnitus in my right ear). I sufferred from middle ear infection to my LEFT ear in January 2003. The first time I noticed this tinnitus was in a desceding elevator in July 2003

Thanks for your enquiry regarding tinnitus and the possible cause of your tinnitus. It certainly does help us a lot when we have detailed information regarding the tiinitus such as when it occurs, the severity of the tinnitus noises and "the ringing is in my right ear".
Tinnitus types and causes are hard to describe and indeed everyone experiences and describes their tinnitus in a different manner, so it is like a breath of fresh air to have your tinnitus condition described so succinctly.
It does seem certain to me that you have suffered cochlea damage in that right ear, almost certainly as a result of that middle ear infection you mentioned.
