The tinnitus became noticeable within a year following that root canal...
The Cochlea DamageTinnitus remedy is one of our original remedies and is certainly our most successful tinnitus treatment remedy.
This remedy has achieved remarkable success at relieving tinnitus caused from exposure to noise, head or dental surgery, a blow to the head.
Client Asked:
The tinnitus is much worse on the left than on the right. I had an audiologist evaluation in the early 1990s that showed hearing loss pattern typical of noise damage yet I had no specific exposure to artillery or any other significant noise--just the daily accumulation that we all are exposed to.
The otolaryngologist who examined my ears at the time said that there did not appear to be any pathology. I perceive the ringing as at a high level rather than a dull, whooshing sound.
It does not correspond to pulse. I can no longer use a telephone at my left ear. I have tried acupuncture, homeopathic tinctures for Pacific Northwest mold and mildew allergies, without success.
I do have chronic post-nasal drip, as do many Northwesterners. I was in constitutional homeopathic treatment for 3 years following the abdominal surgery.
I found it to be efficacious and it preceded the tinnitus, which by memory followed the first root canal. Interestingly, that particular root canal tests out as benign by the naturopath.
The second root canal, on the upper left, which is about 5 years old, tests out as problematic.
Armour Thyroid and natural HRT. In 1987 I had a bilateral salpingo-oopherectomy. Then in the early 1990s I had a root canal on a lower right molar. The tinnitus became noticeable within a year following that root canal.
Our Response:
Hello Carol,
The tinnitus noises you describe as well as the hearing loss you have described ceratinly does indicate cochlear damage. As you so rightly have mentioned it is most likely just the normal exposure to noise on a cumulative basis that is the cause of your hearing loss and tinnitus.
The root canal treatments have almost certainly been the trigger to further cochlear damage and are the cause of the increased levels of tinnitus. There are millions of little hairs housed in the cochlea that move when you hear an external sound.
When a sound gets discerned by the ears and these minute hairs start moving, signals go streaking through the auditory nerve which your brain interprets as sound.
The agitation of the hairs in the cochlea can be likened to a field of grass rippling in time with the wind.
The cilia in the inner ear are easily broken from the pressures generated by sudden bursts of sounds. Obviously those that are unfortunate enough to work in a noisy place or visit loud pubs over a period of time will suffer more damage.
The cochlea and its delicate structures are also easily damaged by a severe blow to the head If damage happens and those tiny hairs are broken or bent they can send random signals to the brain which are interpreted as a sound even though none is present.
