Clapton Has Tinnitus

Eric Clapton is suffering from Tinnitus

We are seing this more and more nowdays. So many of the rock icons of yesteryear are coming out and admitting to hearing loss and tinnitus as a result of exposure to loud noise.

Guitar legend Eric Clapton has admitted that he has developed tinnitus, a hearing problem, saying that he hears a whistling sound all the time.

Famous for his hit numbers like `Tears in Heaven`, `Lady In Red’, `Sunshine of your love`, Clapton now wishes he could put the clock back four decades and lower the volume on some of his barnstorming 1960s performances with super-group `Cream`.

The singer admits that though his hearing is not “ruined”, he is suffering from a mild case of tinnitus.

“My hearing isn`t ruined but if I stop and listen, I`ve got whistling all the time, which I suppose is mild tinnitus,” Contactmusic quoted him as saying.

“I probably had two 100-watt stacks at the height of things and I would turn one on for solos. Just mad,” he added.

Damaging the sensitive inner ear organs
Can you imagine what is going to happen to these young people who drive past your house and the whole neibourhood starts vibrating?
They are probably doing even more damage to their hearing than musicians as it is such concentrated sound.
And as for those guys on the train sitting a couple of seats away from you but you can hear the music from their in-ear speakers, can you just imagine the damage being done to those sensitive inner ear organs?
