Tinnitus Out Of The Blue
My tinnitus started out of the blue one day. On that day, however, I did notice that I felt pressure in my head, and in my ears. I had a headache and took aspirin in the morning and after lunch.
I have taken aspirin over the years on a regular basis. I took a total of 5 that day. this was around the second week in August. The only thing that I had done that may have affected my ears was to participate in life-guard training which involved going underwater- only about 8-9ft. to retrieve the victim.
I had to wait a week or so to see my physician, a D.O. and planned to have her check my ears during my annual h&p. She checked my ears and said that there was fluid behind my eardrums and gave me an accupuncture treatment. She said that if this did not help that I might need accupuncture and some cranial manipulation. She did not want to try an antibiotic at this time. It did not help, so I went to see a local D.O.
He suggested Sudafed, but I did not like the side effects so he prescribed Meclazine(sp). I did not have any dizziness or vertigo, and learned later that it is used for that…. He then prescribed a 5 day Steroid antibiotic and Amox/K Clav 875 mg… which did not help … in the interim the pharmacist recommeded sudafed, which I tried for 2 days, which seemed to lessen symptoms, but a friend who is a D.O. recommeded Tussin, as it is less drying, and did some cranial maipulation and suggested some pressure points at the back of my head and under my jaw that I might stimulate to help the opening of the eustachian tubes…
I hear (the [tag-tec]tinnitus[/tag-tec] noises) what I can best describe, as I live in the country, as fall bug sounds. It is a high pitched constant sound.
I have also gone to a Chiropractor who does Torque Manipulation, a gentle system that readusts your alignment…I have had at least 5 adjustments.
I am a very healthy 55 year old, who exercises 6 days per week, runs 2 1/2 miles 4 days per week, and does weight training and stability/core training on the exercise ball on a weekly basis. I do not take any medications, with the exception of Cal.Mag., B vit., Ginko, Milk Thistle and Dandelion, and a natural digestive aid.
I have been aware that I have had a hearing loss for some time, as I need to ask people to repeat things at times, but have not had an audiological evaluation.
I am a firm believer in homeopathic treatment and would appreciate any advice that you might be able to provide to help with my [tag-ice]tinnitus[/tag-ice].
It DOES seem as if your tinnitus problems could have been triggered by your under water adventures but that would NOT be the root cause of the problem.
It is far more likely to be cochlear damage tinnitus that has been triggered by the pressure of holding your breath at depth.
It could also be sinus tinnitus in conjucntion with the cochlear damage (hearing loss related) tinnitus.
I would suggest the following:
Order the Cochlear Damage Tinnitus Treatment from this link only and you will be able to order the sinus tinnitus treatment remedy at a very substantial discount.
That way you will be addressing BOTH probable causes of your tinnitus problem and dealing with your sinus problem.
Hope this helps.
