Reducing Your Exposure To Noise Is Good For Your Health

By John On November 28, 2006 Under Tinnitus Articles

Noise Is BAD for your health!

I’ll bet you didn’t know that exposure to loud noises causes a lot more harm than just affecting our hearing. Experts agree that [tag-tec exposure to noise]exposure to noise[/tag-tec] over a long period of time will cause hearing loss and [tag-ice]tinnitus[/tag-ice] but not many people are aware of these other side effects of noise!

  • Side effects of prolonged noise exposure
  • raised blood pressure levels
  • irritibilaty
  • insomnia
  • lowered immune system
  • hearing loss
  • tinnitus
  • Exposure to loud noise is by far and away the common danger facing US workers today and few of them actually are aware of the potential danger to their health.

Even exposures to short, sharp bursts of noise as often happens is factories, wharehouses, airports, in the military and well really any industry you can think of, can lead to hearing impairment.

If you can’t hear what is being said a couple of feet away from you, or you need to shout to make yourself heard, the ambient levels of noise are too high and you need to protect your hearing. You can do this by using ear muffs and ear plugs or even both!

So if you work in a noisy environment and have been feeling tired and irritable and can’t seem to shake of those feelings of lethargy it could well be that the noise is getting to you.

High blood pressure, lack of sleep, and coupled with a lowered immune system which will happen if you are not sleeping enough, is potentially a killer combination in the true sense of the word.

    Nuff said?
