Tinnitus Remedy for Tinnitus Due to Presbycusis
Presbycusis or hearing loss due to old age is one of the leading causes of tinnitus among the older generation. It is usually a common problem when a person reaches 40 and above. Presbycusis happens as the hair cells and the hearing organ as a whole degenerates. As we grow older the hair cells can no longer regenerate and this is one reason why a person experiences problems with hearing. It usually starts with a partial hearing loss and eventually the damage becomes larger through the years.
Since hearing loss is one of the identified causes of tinnitus, a person with presbycusis is not excused from having tinnitus. They also get to experience the same ringing in the ears that other people experience with tinnitus from different causes, hence they also need tinnitus remedies for their tinnitus.
Because the problem of a person with presbycusis is irreversible, the tinnitus remedy for tinnitus due to presbycusis is to as much as possible prevent more damage to the hearing. Further damage may be prevented by avoiding exposure to loud noise, proper care of the ears by having impacted ear wax removed only by a physician, avoiding intake of ototoxic drugs, and avoiding exposure to loud noise.
Depending on the severity of the hearing loss, a hearing aid may be given to partially restore hearing and possibly resolve the tinnitus. But there is also a risk when using hearing aids as this of course magnifies the sound in the surroundings to be heard by the person with hearing problems and there is a tendency that the sound may be too loud and may just add to the problem with the hair cells.
It is then much better to use natural tinnitus remedies like eating the right nutritious foods and avoiding caffeine, salt, cholesterol and nicotine. A little exercise can also help with the proper circulation of blood.
