I have been using T-gone for 2 weeks and just yesterday the ringing in my ear got about 50% louder.
There were no other factors like an exposure to noise or increased stress in my life.
I am concerned.
Perhaps this is a normal stage in the healing cycle.
Or maybe I should stop taking T-Gone for a while.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks so much …. — Bill
Hi Bill, we often find that some people experience a louder tinnitus sensation at the outset. It is my belief that because you are focusing on the tinnitus because your are taking tinnitus remedies is often a cause. You think about it more, and as the saying goes, what you focus on, expands! Also many people are worried about starting a new treatment regime, they stress about side effects etc and all this acts to increase your tinnitus levels rather than relieve the tinnitus. Just keep on taking them, rest assured nothing untoward will happen, and soon you will start noticing that the levels will start reducing.
How the Power Of This Group Can HelpTinnitus Sufferers
Here at T-Gone.com we have our own unique community, a community of people who are tinnitus patients and former tinnitus sufferers. It is quite a large community, there are over 20,000 members.
I would like encourage members of this community to start helping each other by using the power of the group. This phenomenon is exploding on the internet with sites such as Facebook or Myspace. Millions of people all around the world are joining groups and making friends and indeed a good deal of marketing and selling is now taking place on those web sites.
Before I go any further, I am not trying to get you to join a group at one of these sites! I am merely using them as an example of how groups of like minded people are talking to and helping each other using these type of sites. They form communities…
We can all help each other in small ways, such as commenting at this blog, writing in and telling us about how the remedies have helped you, tell us about your experiences with tinnitus.Try and answer a question someone else has asked at the blog. If you have found something that helps you, tell us about it and you will be helping thousands of other tinnitus sufferers.
Every tinnitus sufferer will go through tough times where they need some encouragement, advice or inspiration. There is no better way than to help other people who have tinnitus than by writing in with your inspirational messages. We’ll post them at this blog. It gives them hope and reinforces their will to also succeed at relieving tinnitus.
I have had some amazing success stories from our community members. One such message is posted below. It really is inspiring and uplifting for our readers to be able to read these messages from other tinnitus sufferers.

It is possible to subscribe to this blog using an RSS reader. That way everytime I update the blog, you get notified immediately. You can use this link to subscribe to the feed http://t-gone.com/tinnitus-tinnitis/feed/rss/

I have had tinnitus for about 1 year. I have yet to try T-Gone, but if my current treatment doesn’t work, I’ve been on it 4 months. I will try T-Gone.
My tinnitus is very acute. Ringing all day, and all night.
I am also beta-testing a new hearing aid, that they tell me will reduce my ringing. It’s quite comfortable, but not cheap.

It IS encouraging to read this entry from Pie Dumas. I have had little success diminishing my tinnitus after over 4 months using the “Noise Tinnitus” remedy. However, I am now aware that drinking decaf drinks (I switched to decaf coffee last October for migraine relief) neutralizes the effectiveness of T-Gone. I am at the same time wondering if perhaps I should try the sinus formula (my ears are often “blocked”) and possibly the one for stress. I am determined to find some relief as silence and peace inside and outside of my head and mind are extremely important.

Hey, I thank you and hope to learn a lot from you. This constant ringing in my ears, I have just learned after 30 years since my departure from the U.S. Army, is the result of the high intensity sound of weapons fire, etc. I was told when I got out ouf the Army in 1978 that all I had left to me as far as benefits, other that the G.I. Bill for education, was a hole in the ground and an American flag.
I have recently learned, through a VA rep here in Southwest Oklahoma … that is not the case. In fact, I have been diagnosed with bilateral tinnitus and have been given a 10 percent disability.
This problem has driven me up a wall all these years and I took it as a natural way of life. Now that I am aware of it, I am even that much more up a wall. It is a constant electric wire torture, even in my dreams.
Thanks for your help.

Since I’ve only been on T-Gone products less than two weeks, it’s too early to comment on results, but as I am a heavy sufferer from tinnitus I am looking forward to relief and will be happy, I hope, to report future results.
Meanwhile, I’m quite prepared to join a support group as you have recommended.

Great news, Pie. Thank you! So glad you wrote in to share your experience with us. That’s what Power of the Group is all about! I think we’re going to see more and more of this sharing of experience and information — a kind of collective raising of awareness. The more we all participate in this — even if our submissions are not earth shattering, the greater the awareness and HOPE tinnitus sufferers can have. We all win! Keep us posted on how any remedies tried are working out. I promise to do the same. / Peter R.

I am sorry but at this time I am in no position to help anyone.I need help myself.I have been to so many doctors and been through so many test that I have just about given up.I go to bed with sounds in my ear and I wake up with the same sounds if not louder in my ear.I have been to the best doctors in North carolina and nothing has been done yet.I am seeing doctors for hearing loss in my left ear at age 46 and the same ear is where the sounds are. They told me not to order anything off of the internet I am also diabetic and I have to be very careful with what I take.So this is my story I have been dealing with this for almost 7months.I cry everyday I take all kinds of meds nothing has worked for me yet.I have more appt.next week and I have no idea what they will put me through next.I am so miserable I would love to please at least have one day of relief but nothing has happened for me yet.So you see I can’t be of any help to anyone I need the help myself. Thank you and I totally hope there will be help for myself and people that are going through what I am. Sincerly yours Rita

the first thing to check with tinnitus is to make sure your blood pressure is under control, naturally if possible. Get off the salt, its very important….too much salt spikes your blood pressure, and your tinnitus. The next thing to give up is dairy, except for perhaps an occasional ice cream. Lose weight, exercise, it all helps to lower the tinnitus. and I’ve noticed tinnitus is worse when you are depressed, you notice it more. exercising is a great help with depression.
if you’re a diabetic, you may want to try something radical….basically the atkins diet, give up all carbs, except for fruits and veggies….
There’s no question that Dr. Vernon is trouble — but for whom? Not her patients, that’s for certain. They just won’t stay sick. People walk into her office afflicted with type-2 diabetes and, by every objective medical measurement, walk out cured. There’s $51 million that says that isn’t supposed to happen, not in a clinic in Kansas, and definitely not as a result of cleaning out the refrigerator.
“My first line of treatment is to have patients remove carbohydrates from their diets,” explains Dr. Vernon, a petite, energetic mother of two who also serves as the president of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians. “This is often all it takes to reverse their symptoms, so that they no longer require medication.”
you can also try the tinnitus phase-out system, it seems to help a lot of people.
but I cannot stress enough how important diet is to tinnitus.

I have been exposed to punishingly loud music for most of
my life and am a veteran professional in the music industry.
I have done about 2500 live shows and have spent the
last 25 years in the studio as a record producer and recording engineer. I have spent my entire life (starting at 5 years old)
performing, writing, recording and producing music.
About two years ago I went to a night club to meet an
artist and the music was exceptionally loud even by my standards. The next day there was a hissing in my left ear
which got softer over time but never west away. Now it is
present all of the time and gets much louder when I listen
to music at an even moderate level. This is how I support
my wife and children and make my entire lively-hood.
The sound is louder than the wind when I drive in the car with the window open. If I accidentally notice it when I
am going to bed there is no way I can sleep without
the television on or SOME kind of major distraction. I am
scared and very worried. I am turning 50 in two months
and don’t know what I would do if I couldn’t make my
living through music. I am very worried about this and
am going to book an appointment with an audiologist
this. week…… YIKES! If you have this thing - YOU
ARE NOT ALONE!

I have been thinking ordering the T-Gone remedy, but have yet to do so. I have very loud chirping, ringing sounds in both ears , this has gone on now for fifteen years. I would like to say that it would be nice to diminish the noise because my high range hearing has diminished over the years and I wear a hearing aid now. I was fitted with two, but the right aid made the tinnitus even worse. I do have to say that even though the noise is very loud I have learned to ignore it for the most part. I think that if I thought about it, then it would make it worse so I just try to not think about it and to count my blessings instead…

Hi everyone,
I have tinnitus for a year now, and it was started from irregular ‘nging’ sound until about 5 months later (a year ago) it turned to a ‘rigging tone’.
At that time I thought it was all over and is the end of my ability to hear! I was worry and be honest was panic that it may have caused by tumor, etc. etc. and was not helping my health condition but worsening.
I have not taken any T-Gone product yet, but through all the reading and understanding on this tinnitus, and other factor in my life ( I am now almost 55, and I have a thyroid cancer operation in Jan 07, and then followed by this tinnitus, over weight by 6 kg, I was weak, not as strong physically as I used to). All those suffering have started to taking over the interest of this life, and I knew I was not heading at the right direction, that I have to do something about it.
Realizing that no one else I can depend on to make the change but myself, the first thing I did was to change my way of thinking of this life. Not to focus only to those suffers, but there are lots more life than that.
As a Christian, I re-started to see and appreciate the value of this life that is given by God. I appreciated more and more everything in my life, my beautiful wife, my 2 handsome boys (23 and 15), my job (the fact that I suffer from all of these but God still bless me a job and strength do job).
Through the wisdom from my lovely Jesus, I set my goal in December last year 2007, 11 months after the operation, 4-5 months after I have the ‘ new music sound in my left ear called tinnitus’ and I said: I WANT TO BE MUCH FITTER , HEALTIER by the end of 2008 on ward!
I set my program to regularly exercise, from fast walking to jogging, and then follow up with weight lifting start from 3 kg and now 8kg on each hands for total about 45minutes a day if possible every day, but average 5 days a week. I always want exercise till I get sweating and my sport shirt get really wet. Reduce my intake to a more healthier food, eat lots of veg., protein fish, little meat. Reduce eating chocolate cake (one that I love to eat).
I am now in my 8 months program, my weight reduced by 5 kg, with my strengt feel much stronger than all the last 15 years. I hit the golf ball on my golf game much longer to day than it was 5-10 years ago! I see myself at almost 55 and just half way on this life (God knows how long I will live, but vision and desire are NOT a sin to God).
While I am having those problem, I take every minutes of the time and enjoy them with God, with my family and friends.
The tinnitus has NEVER again a factor for me to get to sleep. It is become just another music instrument to drive me to sleep, and not to drive me crazy like it used to. I still want to find the cure for it so I am not accepting that it is part of my whole life, but fight it by learning to ignore while I am doing something about it (through building my health) works for me. Rarely I talk about it with my wife, and I it is not a subject for a discussion with my boys and others. That is how I help myselp. By doing all of those, I feel every day that the fitter, relax I am the smallest the rigging sound in my ear, and mostly iqnorer.
At least for me, I see that I first should stay strong and very first one to help myself to fight this life inconvenience due to this rigging.
See that this life even with tinnitus in me, there are much more to enjoy with life, my family, friends. One tinnitus proble should in no way I will allow it to take them away from me, and my family.
God bless and give you the strenght as He has given me.

I was diagnosed with Tinnintus last year November, at first I was devastated, cried alot and felt ‘why me’? But then from inside came this inner strength I never knew I had, I told myself that this problem is NOT going to get me down, I laughed at it and as stupid as this may sound this helped me more than any medication could. The first thing I do when I get up in the morning is put either the TV or radio on, there already I don’t hear the ringing, when in my car the radio is on, when shopping music is playing. Believe me, this distracts one from hearing the ringing. Always keep something on to avoid being alone with the tinnitus. The only time I hear it is at night when I go to bed and then I still don’t allow it to take control of my life, I sleep like a baby every night. I know this positive approach won’t work for everyone, but it has helped me, 95% of my day I don’t hear the ringing at all and the little bit I hear at night I can live. Positivity can go a long way!!!!
Chin up and take charge!
Regards Tracy

this is especially to: rita young..and any one else..of course..i first experienced this terrible ringing at 17 years old after returning from a rifle range ..where i was shooting an M-1 rifle.. it was a cannon of a gun ..very very loud..my ears were ringing 24 hrs a day for maby 2 wks ..very loud ..i could only hear very loud talking above the ringing and you had to be in my face..then it left as quickly as it appeared ..then returned about a year later but less intense..and left again til ..about maby 4 years later with a vengence..24/7..i thought i was going nuts…i went to the doctor he looked up my nose and said i had an awful infection in there..meds etc. no help then my life became almost unbearable. i had a cat scan sinus x-ray, alergy shots by an alergy specialist..B-12..shots they worked for about two weeks..wouldn’t work again alegery shots worked at first and then ringing was back etc…for over 30 years i have battled this thing..numerious ear nose and throat specialist..i even had all the mercury fillings taken out of my teeth and replaced with plastic…i don’t know if that did it but since then i have experienced a lowering of the intensity…but it comes back and then will increase again to about same level etc…i use a lot of mind control to ignore it when its very loud..such as get busy with a hobby go somewhere keep moving .don’ t think about it etc..it takes practice..sometimes i want to panic and just run but i talk to my self and say hey that want help anything..hang on ..you have to be you own advisor and encourager..change your thinking habits when you first awake in the morning think of something else ..not the ringing think of the happy’ist thing that ever occured to you as a child ..and as an adult..you develop an emotional defense thinking pattern.,tell yourself this ringing is not gonna harm me its not gonna over come me etc..talk positive thoughts to yourself..it works..and of course my faith in Jesus Christ is the only reason i have made it..on the loud hard days i had to call for help from Him and He has always given me that extra strength i needed to make it…and i will be well!… soon!….

Rita I can fully understand you. I have been suffering from t and a hearing loss in the left ear for goin on to 2 years now. I have also tried everything, accupuncture, laser, diet, auyrvedic treatment, sound therapy, cortesone, you name it and so far nothing seems to have worked. I have been on T-gone now for almost 3 months. I haven’t noticed any improvemnet, but one thing for sure has made a big difference: my attitude towards it. And this helps. Yes, there are many moments when I want to break down and cry and many nights when I can’t fall asleep because the ringing is too loud and many mornings when I wake up and the first thing I hear is the ringing in my ear. But, we have to be strong and I am confident that we eventually reach a stage when it just doesn’t matter anymore and doesn’t have such a negative impact. I have just turned 40 and sometimes when I think of having to live the rest of my life like this I’d prefer not, but if I am honest with myself, I love my life and I want to live it to the full and I am positive. When things get me down I try and think of the good times, of things I’d like to still do. There are many ways of distracting the mind. Even just try and laugh… I think that is the best medicine. Be strong and you can do it. I don’t know if there is a cure, but there is acceptance and some days are better than others. I’m trying to watch what I eat and try and figure out if there is any association to food. I do think sugars and caffeine trigger the ringing. Mostly when I wake up in the mornings the noice is more like a humming, but if the day before I have had high sugar intake the then I wake up with quite a loud ringing. I hope this can be of help to you…. Don’t give up! ![]()

I would say to William Smith: don’t stop your cure now that your tinnitus seems to rise by some 50%. I know from experience that a good and effective homeopathic drug in the beginning will very likely increase your phenomena. It is even a sign that it works ! You should by all means go on taking it the way it is prescribed and you will see (hear) your tinnitus diminish gradualyy in the next weeks to come.
Take courage !

I am 58, and have had Tinnitus for about 3yrs now, it was very difficult to live with, you really have to live with it, dont let it control you, you have to block it out, its there all the time, I only hear it when I think about it, I have tried John & Ellen remedy at first I thought it was helping, I think it was a mind over matter thing, although I may have been taking the wrong medication, I will try another , because I am sure the Tinnitus was caused by Dental Surgery…

One of my patient one day brought me a print out of T-Gone remedies information prinout and asked me whether he can take this preperation for his Tinnitis problem. After going through the composition of remedies, I allowed him to take this prescription. What the amazing results he felt! He improved day by day and within 3 months he become almost free from all noises. Afterwards I recomended many people this remedy, till date I had not come accross with any patient who used this preperation and not got results. May be it is too early to my observations as there are not much cases of tinitis in my area. But certainly it shows results.

I’ve been suffering with Tinnitus for 24 years but it has gotten especially pronounced in the last 4 months.
With the help of my psychiatrist I have been coping better.
I started using T-Gone a few weeks ago and am hopeful that it will help in the long run.
I appreciate all the people who have written in, I wish we all will be cured or the ringing will cease on its own someday.
My love of sports is what keeps me going.
All of us have to find things in life to make us hold on.
Good Luck to All.
August 14, 2008
Well tomorrow marks my 10 year anniversary of living with Tinnitus. I have tried many remedies and suggestions including T-gone’s with nothing that I would call success. In fact during the T-gone treatments I developed a second frequency which was quite disturbing. In addition to the usual ultra high pitch screech, I got a very low frequency rumble, like bass drums playing in the next room. Fortunately this has stopped after two weeks and I am back to just one high pitch frequency planted firmly in the middle of my head. Occassionally it changes volume with my pulse.
I just about went crazy when I first experienced the symptoms. I was 45 then and figured my ability to support my family was toast. A church minister friend was a great comfort in simply listening to my experience and offering me prayers and support. He likened the experience to learning to live with chronic pain, and to this day I think it is a good metaphor. One of my coping strategies was to go for walks. The other was to weed the lawn by hand … tedious and repetative, but somethng to do that is not focusing on the lack of quiet. I gradually was able to get back to regular things for longer and longer periods.
In the ten years since the tinnitus started, I took on much more senior positions in a very large corporation, beng a VP for 8 of those years. I found my stress level had little impact on the noise, but it did affect my tolerance of the noise significantly. I developed a discipline for getting to sleep at a specific time each night including week ends and I found this helpful. I also found that if I broke the pattern, such as with an emergency at work or illness, or changing time zones with travel, it takes several days to get back in a pattern and for a few nights until that happens sleep is not that great. I learned the body is very resilient and I can function despite the noise or brief disruptions to my sleep pattern. On nights when the noise bothers me more than usual, I have a simple clock nearby that allows me to concentrate on the ticking. For me that works as well as counting sheep.
I share this in the hope it helps someone to get past the anxiety, depression, and into a functional state. My functional state involves a big degree of living day to day, taking things as they come, and being thankful for what I have today.
August 14, 2008
After reading most of the above comments I feel lucky that my high pitched static noise is bearable and I can probably live with it(hopefully it does’nt get worse) I’m 59 years old and live a healthy lifestyle, don’t drink much coffee or alchohol and run 12kms 4 times a week. My audiologist said I can try this small hearing gadget whicl will increase the level of hearing and reduce the static sound but it will cost about $2500, money back if it does’nt work. I don’t know if I will go through with it perhaps I will wait till I get my tax refund cheque. As for the T-gone remedy tablets, I’m willing to try them for free and if they work, trust me I will send the money.
Cheers
Joe
Well Joe, the one good thing about our tinnitus remedies is that you will not be laying out such a large amount of money! Whilst we cannot promise that they will cure tinnitus or even relieve the tinnitus in every case or with every tinnitus patient, they do in fact help more than 80% of the people who correctly identify the cause of their tinnitus and then buy the appropriate remedy.

its me again ..something else i wanted to mention …i used to suffer from severe anxiety attacks..they appeared after my tinnitus showed up ..and did not help in my coping with the ringing and i was almost always quick tempered especially with my wife….i have had my blood sugar checked a number of times over the years at the doctors office even the fasting glucose test etc…they always gave me a clean bill of health (blood sugar ok)…i bought me one of those glucose meters that diabetics use where they prick the finger and check their blood sugar..my blood showed normal…but i didn’t stop there..i waited til i had another anxiety attack..there it was ..when i tested it was low..very low….over and over i would test when i got nervious and anxious and scared something terrible was gonna happen to me etc…and when i recovered from that emotional downer i’d check sure enough when i felt good my blood sugar was ok ..etc…so i quit eating pies cakes, drinking colas most all sweets i reduced drastically.. it took about a month for my mental out look on life, relationships with people etc to improve..it improved drastically..my internal emotional feelings were an almost complete turn around handling stress was easier etc…when i would eat or drink sweets my blood sugar would go down.if i skipped to many meals it would go down..today if i get off my routine and start drinking colas and eating sweets several times in a row say for two or three days i have this gloominess and unhappy feeling show up in my emotions..and i know its the sugar because i’ve tested it .if i lay off the sweet stuff my good emotions return..i also try to eat several times a day high protein..i usually eat one or more sardines when i get up in the morning with a protein drink or orange juice..i drink a lot of orange juice even though its sweet it doesn’t effect me in the negative oj is my staple i replaced colas with high pulp oj….it has not changed my tinnitus but it has i’am sure given me a stronger positive emotional position..and my wife said she got a new husband…
Good stuff Jerry! It will also help your immune system to be much stronger.

Hi everyone,I’m 47 years of age and spent most of working years in steel fabricating shops exposed to loud hammering and grinding sound, before we had mandatory hearing protection.I been suffering from tinnitius for many years and found ways to deal with a very faint ringing. until a few years ago when the sounds became unbearable.
In my search to find help! I discovered T-gone. I also learned what triggered my tinnitius to an exteremly loud ring 24 / 7. The amount of stress I my life was huge, by controlling my stress levels and taking T-gone I have had great success, some days are completely quit. For anyone just starting, be patient. It was 3 to 4 weeks before I noticed any improvment and 4 month before I could say the ringing was tolerable.
Hello John, that is such valuable advice you have given. Most people today want fast action, or “pop a pill” type remedy for tinnitus, but unfortunately it just doesn’t work like that. It took many years to damage your inner ear and it can sometimes take many months to start getting relief. One just needs to be patient and most of all, persistent! Keep it up…
August 14, 2008
The best advice I might be able to share is that every individual should seek out what works best for them. I take a low dose of Remeron (but generic brand) to assist in sleep & I have absolutely no side affects. Obus has a multi sound device which can also be used by the side of your bed to help with sleeping.

after reading the above, I can appreciate
the power of positive thinking. That has been my way of living with tinnitus. As with others, I havn’t found a remedy. Some days are good and others not so good. I just keep hoping and praying that someone will find a cure or at least relief. I believe noise and medication have been the cause. I have been using Tgone for one and a half months. I can’t claim any reduction in the ringing.

Hi Folks
This is an awesome way of sharing your challenges. Thank you very much John for your guidance and the initiative on the present networking activity.
I am in the thick of tinnitus experience and I can relate to many of you out there. Since taking the T gone remedy my noise level whent up about two notches and I stopped taking the remedy. I still have fear that it might go up further. But on reading some of your comments/sharing I am thinking otherwise. Still not sure if I will do it but I am thinking about it.
How I am coping for now is to keep myself busy and try and re-focus. Praying to God the almighty does help.
I am still puzzled as to why medical technology/research has not caught up with finding a positive cure for tinnitus. Praise God for today for tomorrow will be a brand new day.
Hi Sandi, we often find that some people experience a louder tinnitus sensation at the outset.

Hi all!
Isn’t it terrible that so many of us have this complaint (millions of people) and yet there is no one answer for any of us.
I have had tinnitus since 2000, with episodes of ear pressure, and more or less ability to hear, when the ‘pressure is on’.
Sometimes I am completely off balance even though doctors say I have no fluid in my ears at all. Nothing masks the noise in my head. Nothing! It sings me to sleep and often wakes me before I am rested.
One night, last year, I jumped out of bed when the smoke alarm went off in my apartment. I was just about to fling myself out the front door when I realized the sound was in my own head and I couldn’t turn it off! It lasted nearly and hour and a half and finally went back to its normally loud level, of which I was releived! The experience left me afraid of that ever happening again.
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I get hyperacusis in my left ear, which makes normal noises appear louder. A paper bag being balled up sounds like a freight train about to chew me up and spit me out.
About 3 weeks ago, I stopped eating all white flour, white rice, white anything and guess what, the noise was nearly gone for almost 2-1/2 weeks. Talk about relief! It was like being on vacation! This week I ate white bread a couple of times, a waffle, white rice and now the noise level is creeping up, so I am going to cut back off again and see what happens.
I have devoted the past 7 years to researching stress syndromes for highly sensitive people.
I encourage you to visit my website. Click on ‘Tinnitus’ to see what has worked for others and may work for you.
I have not tried T-Gone Remedies, but I will if the ’stay away from white’ thing doesn’t work this second time around.
May Love & Energy Be Yours!

Hello everyone, I have been suffering with tinnitus in my left ear now for 7 years probably due to the fact that I was a machinist for 13 years in a loud factory. I started using T-Gone but also found that the ringing seemed to get louder so I stopped using the product. I see that others also experienced an increase in noise when beginning to use this product and am comforted with the explanation as to why this may be the case, so I will resume using the product for a longer period of time to see if any reduction occurs. For me the best way I have been able to cope with this hissing/ringing sound that’s 24/7 is by ignoring it and keeping myself preocupied otherwise it would drive me nuts. Under stress the noise greatly increases so I’ve learned that by dealing with stressors I am able to reduce the noise. I will also cut down or try to completely eliminate caffeine as some of you have mentioned may lead to an increase in tinnitus sounds. I’m glad this message board was created. It’s very difficult to explain tinnitus to those who do not suffer from this disorder. Thanks and I’ll keep you posted!

Hi everybody, I am 69 and I started getting tinnitus in both ears about 6 years ago. It is a high intensity hissing noise which appears about a minute or two after I wake up in the morning. It is there for the rest of the day until I finally manage to fall asleep at night.
I have tried every diet modification one can think of, cutting out coffee, alcohol, gluten, etc with no change at all in the tinnitus.
Gingko biloba made it worse, as does dark chocolate and white wine. Red wine is o.k. Also, MSG (monosodium glutamate, often found in Chinese food) will really increase my tinnitus tremendously and its effect would take several days to gradually wear off.
I went to allergists, ear-nose-throat specialists, repeatedly and without any relief at all. In fact the last
ENT specialist told me that he had tinnitus too and that
with tinnitus there are only two possible outcomes: When you wake up in the morning it will either still be there or it will be gone!
Obviously I had made the 400km round trip by car to see him for nothing!
I have some age related hearing loss in both ears but not very much and I do not need a hearing aid to hear properly.
I acquired a Siemens Serenity hearing aid/masker combination unit for both ears - it helps me somewhat
when I can’t fall asleep but then I wake up in the morning
exhausted and worn out from subconsciously listening to the waterfall like white noise for such a long time.
I cope better when I put earphone buds in my ears upon retiring and the radio is tuned to a station that has a mixture of music and talking, more talking though.
This allows me to find proper sleep without much trouble.
I also find that when I am fully occupied with tasks such as gardening and other physical exercise that my attention is distracted from the tinnitus and it becomes annoying again only when I intentionally mentally check to see if I still have it.
The less attention I pay to the fact that it is there all the time the less I notice it and the easier it becomes to live with it.
A German firm by the name of MERZ is doing a research study with thousands of tinnitus sufferers testing a drug to see if it is effective and safe. They already have reported some success and that they think they are on the right track.
I have placed my name on its email list in the hope of Merz letting me know if and when a Merz prescription drug will be available.
In the meantime: I bear it and try to ignore it as much as possible.
You may try to do the same because it works for me and I would go crazy without this attitude!
Cheers!

I have had ringing in one ear for nearly a year now due to blows to the back of my head. CTs,MRIs,ENT exams reveal nothing.I am nearing the end of Arches Tinnitus RElief Formula
and am certain it has not hurt anything but no noticable help.
Is it in the brain? Yes
does it help to refocus? Yes
are there days that you feel like giving up? Yes
I take a very low dose valium on super loud days and stay really busy golfing and doing anything outside to distract. I look forward to bedtime sometimes with the help of a noise machine[cheap] putting the tv on sleep mode and often taking an ambien. It seems like I will have up to 6 or 7 pretty bad days and then 1 to 2 1/2 Fantastic days where the level is at about 10% to 20% of normal. When my wonderful wife, God bless her soul, ask how it is , it is easy to answer in percentages.
I refuse to give up and enjoy reading anything about Tinnitus. I am so surprised that the ATA does’nt have a chat room but in the same breath,am excited about this one. Many of us do not live in an area where support groups exist.
After reading all the comments no one has mentioned Hypnotherapy as a possible aid. I have what I think is an open mind about the possibility of some success with it but am starting the first of 4 sessions in October. I’ll try and keep you posted.
God Bless, J.

Hi there, I’m Anie from Malaysia. It’s about my hubby who get this “friend”. We just received the remedies (Type 4 & Type 7) on 19/08/08 and taken them since last nite. What happen was my hubby couldn’t sleep as the sound quite loud and affected his body as well. Until 4am only that he slept I think (tired) . And today, he’s feeling not well such as pain here and there (hand, leg and even head - sometimes). So seems like he’s quite panic and anxious …so worried.
The questions are : 1) How long these symptons will be there. 2) What should he do 3) Can he take these medicine : a) XANAX 0.5mg ALPRAZOLAM (sleep) b) BUTACORT 50 ACUEOUS - Budesonide 50mcg (Nasal Spray) c) DISLAM (Throat) d) Panadol (headache) 4) Does smoking affecting the effectiveness of remedies.
Really hope your immediate replies!!
Thanks
High Hopes.
Hi Annie, Firstly I need to tell you that these tinnitus remedies cannot cure tinnitus but they can help relieve his tinnitus, It is quite OK to keep on taking the all but he will find after a month or so that he will not need the Xanax as the stress tinnitus remedy will be working by then. There are no side effects with these remedies and they will not interact with or interfere with the efficacy of the prescription medications he is taking, so you do not have to stress about that
The remedies cannot cause any symptoms as you describe. They are most likely to be a result of anxiety and lack of sleep. It is very difficult for the remedies to start working if your body is in a stare of lowered resistance as he most likely is right now. #
When you are very anxious and stressed your immune system is compromised and your health suffers. In this state the tinnitus becomes worse instead of better. It is important to let him relax as much as possible and to try and get some sleep. Let him do some physical exercise so he gets physically tired at night. This often helps many people. Smoking will not adversely affect the working of the T-Gone tinnitus remedies.
Tell him to hand tough, the remedies should go a long way to relieving his stress and anxiety and also to slowly start reducing the tinnitus noises.

Hello there, thank you so much for your immediate reply. I really appreciate it! Anyhow, I just wonder why he suddenly became like that as he can’t go to work as well. It’s really make me worry of coz! By the way, I have to be strong and support him right. But really can’t stand to see him in this state right now. I’m just hoping that he’ll strong enough to take the remedies as asdvised and not giving up so early. Really want to see an improvement so that he’ll get some relief and believe that this remeies will sure help him to live peacefully. Yeah. May God hear us for sure!!

Margaret says. I have had tinitus interminterally for three years whcih I hardly ever noticed until about 18 months ago when the ringing started up in my left ear all the time and very noticeable.
I started on my first treatment of type 4 for noise related but during that time I had a depression problem so my ringing did’nt get any better.
So now I am on my second lot of treatment and I think that it may be helping a little as when the ringing is loud from being in a noisy situation it seems to settle down quicker, so hopefully things will get better.
It doesn’t worry me at night at all.
Yours sincerely Margaret.

Hi, I just want to ask that if there’s no sound for the day, should he take the remedies as usual? This was happen last 2 days, my hubby seems like so relieved as no sound or very litlle at his both ears (maybe right no sound at all and left very little). He asked whether should continue or not. I’m not very sure. But when he took the remedies last night, the sound back as previous level. Actually for the best solution, until how long should he take the remedies, without missing a day? Even there’s no sound.
Annie, he must keep on taking the tinnitus treatments till the end of the course.

Hello everyone. As a tinnitus sufferer for 5 weeks, I also had a slight vertigo episode the other day (I have an inner ear problem). I took a Meclizine for the dizziness and I immediately noticed that it quieted the ringing for a good 24 hours. I was elated! However, the ringing did come back when I awoke the next day.
I’ve been on T-Gone 3 for two weeks now and like many, I’ve noticed a slight increase in the volume in my ear. While it may be worrisome, I seem to be able to cope. Indeed, like many of you, I’m on my way to pursuing every recourse I have — I tried acupuncture yesterday, and next week, I’m going to a Chinese class for tai chi. Deep in my heart, I know there’s no cure or treatment for tinnitus, but I see no harm in trying.
As for all the advice we hear on diet, stress relief, and physical conditioning, those are givens for feeling better, without or without tinnitus.
The best advice I can share is a change in attitude. Tinnitus, vertigo, diabetes, etc., — those are just events and circumstances that “happen.” The magic is in looking at them and asking ourselves who we are in relation to them. Are you bigger and better than tinnitus? You are! So do as I do — say, “Bring it on. You’re not going to destroy me,” and love life more. We must do this, for the alternative would be despair and suicide.
I’m an agnostic. I don’t support any religion. But I believe in God. Take my advice. Read the books, Conversations With God I, II, and III. They are NOT about religion. They’re about who you are — a child of the powerful universe and all the amazing power you have been given.
John & Ellen: I’m going to continue using T-Gone 3, even with the decibel level going up in my ear. I hope I haven’t induced the increase in volume by my use of T-Gone 3. Have I?

Almost three years ago I was on my balcony reading a book. Got up and was coming in the sliding glass door and got dizzy, fell against the side, made it to our couch. Sat down and told my husband I don’t feel good. Exactly at that time, my hearing in my left ear was gone…completely. The Tinnitus started up at the same time and is still with me. As I’ve read, from morning when I wake up until I fall asleep. I can handle the loss of hearing in my one ear, but still am having trouble with T. We are very social and it can affect me worse in a restaurant…it’s just awful. I’ve been to several big specialists in the Chicago area and all I get is there is NOTHING for it except to deal with it. Ive been told I’m not a candidate for a hearing aid, as the hair fibers are gone and the nerve is damaged. They believe it was a from a viral infection. The only place I can think of (I’m not a concert fan, except occasionaly. I have had a parrot for the last 22 years - I truly think this has come from her screaching while on my shoulder. It was pretty “earth shattering” and occasionaly hurt my ear.
Unfortunately, she passed away 2 years ago. I loved her to death and I guess she left me a present. It’s a very difficult situation and it looks as though it’s not going anywhere. I keep saying there are worse things in life and everyone gets some kind of package to deal with. I’d like to throw this one away.
I have a close friend who has it in both ears, for many years, and also gave me the advice to concentrate on other things, which I do. I must admit there are times I just cn only hear the T.

Message to Werner:
Thank you for the information on the German firm, MERZ, and its continuing research on tinnitus. I will go their website and sign up for any tests or studies. This may be our one and only hope left for a cure.
I realized yesterday that if I don’t get ito a state of hunger, my tinnitus stays very faint and almost quiet. So starting today, upon the advice of my acupuncturist, I will eat every 2 hours. The portions will be small but continuous and consistent. I’ll start with protein in the morning with breakfast, I won’t skip meals, and I’ll avoid the empty high-calorie snacks.

Hi John,
Last Sunday, my hubby was taking a sinus medicine (herbs) as his nose (inside) is swollen and informed that it’s sinus (chronic). After taking the medicine, the sound become louder and consistent (already 2 days) . At the same time, he’s taking T-gone as usual. (Type 4 & 7). Could it be as he’s taking the wrong remedy which is for noise and actually he has sinus as well which maybe also the caused of tinnitus. But he’s also can’t hear any loud volume such as lorry engine, horn and etc; . Should he continue taking the remedy & the herbs as well?
Thanks…

Anie,
It seems to me that he should be taking the noise tinnitus remedy (Type 4) with the SINUS tinnitus remedy (Type 3).
Currently he is taking the stress tinnitus remedy (Type 7) in conjunction with the noise tinnitus remedy.
Check out the sinus tinnitus remedy at this page http://www.t-gone.com/sinus-tinnitus.htm
