Pulse in the Ear

Pulse in the Ear

Defined as the perception of sound in the ear or head in the absence of an external source, tinnitus has been haunting individuals for who knows how long. It is commonly known as ringing in the ears although it may also come as other sounds including roaring, hissing, whistling, rushing, and clicking noises.

There is a form of tinnitus where you experience a pulse in the ear, and this noise beats rhythmically with your heart. This is called pulsatile tinnitus, the less common form of tinnitus.

Pulsatile tinnitus is usually associated with circulatory problems like hypertension, atherosclerosis, or high blood cholesterol levels in general. Thus, while its effects can be debilitating, it has serious implications.

It is then important that when you experience that pulsating noise, go visit your doctor as soon as you can, so that he can run some tests and find out what caused it. You can then take the necessary steps like finding the right treatment and evaluating your diet.
