Bomb Disposal and Brain Injury

Bomb disposal has become one of the most important services provided by the military force of the government since bomb threats have become quite prominent these few years. This kind of job has played a very important role in the security and safety of every individual. Countries have spent billions of dollars on activities and equipments that would help enhance the capability of bomb disposal units. Aside from this, it is also very important to make sure that the military personnel who engage in this effort are given the proper medical attention that they will need since this job causes different kinds of injuries both physical and mental and at some occasions, even death. 

There is a recent study on the effects of concussions and head injuries acquired by bomb specialists during their operations. In this study, the soldiers are given a number of mental exercises to evaluate the kind of brain injury that they have. One activity gave emphasis on how well a soldier’s inner ear works since blasts also affects hearing. Some soldiers may suffer from ringing ears which at some point may become very painful making life difficult for them; in this case patients may be given the proper medical treatment for Tinnitus or the ringing ears that soldiers experience. Basically, this study aims to give proper diagnosis to soldiers so that they may be given the right treatment.
