Hearing Loss Research Continues
The Chief Executive of Deafness Research UK, Vivienne Michael said that because of the generosity of people, continued research for the best treatment for tinnitus, hearing loss, hyperacusis, and other hearing problems has become possible. There are many charity groups that exist for the welfare of people with hearing problems, and a lot of them are able to operate through help from private entities. Financial assistance from various people and groups have funded research whose purpose is to understand how and why hearing problems occur and to find out the better ways to deal with them. research studies have helped many people with hearing problems by giving enough knowledge about what they are going through and by improving medical services, devices, and treatment options they could use.
However, despite the efforts to learn more about hearing loss and tinnitus, these and other hearing problems continue to have no cure at all. Experts can only improve the devices used to alleviate the inconvenience suffered by patients. There is also a concern that awareness about these conditions and what causes them should be spread. It has been reported that more teens and young adults are now suffering from tinnitus and hearing loss than 30 years ago. Deafness has even more profound consequences in children who are still learning to write, read, and speak. Hearing problems also result in depression and anxiety. Some patients cease contact with friends and shun from social life.
