Tinnitus At Night

By julius On October 31, 2008 Under Tinnitus News

Reports have it that about 1 in 100 people suffer tinnitus – that constant buzzing or clicking in the ear which should not be dreaded as a disease. Being such, it is a symptom that still calls for medical attention. The ringing sensation that occurs in either ear or both, is not imaginary, it is real. It may not be a serious problem, but it is troublesome to those who suffer the condition. Day-time activities make the deafening sensation less noticeable, but tinnitus at night may seem louder since the surroundings are quiet.

While the cause of tinnitus remains unknown, exposure to noise such as emanating from loud music or firearms presents serious effects. Medications or drug side effects are another culprit. A patient even acquired it from large doses of aspirin which eventually caused some nerve damage. There is a limited option for tinnitus but studies show it can be averted. For instance, when exposed to loud noise, the sufferer is advised to wear a hearing protection. Other causes like earwax buildup can also be taken care of by simply removing the excessive earwax.

Stress and fatigue may also make your tinnitus worse. If you are suffering from tinnitus from stress, it is strongly advised to avoid stressful activities. There are medical and natural remedies for tinnitus. All you need to do is to find the best remedy based on what causes the ringing menace.
