[imwb_socialbuzz] By John On April 25, 2011 Under Tinnitus

Like all the other organs in our body, our ears play very vital roles to keep us alive. Its function is not only limited in human hearing but it is also responsible for our balance and body positioning. When it gets damaged or destroyed, we may find it very difficult to live normally. Thus, it is very important to properly care for it by having the right knowledge of what we can do to avoid ear diseases and right interventions that we should take once we experience the indications that something is wrong with our ears and our hearing such as ringing ears.

Our environment plays an exceptional part in keeping our ears healthy. Although our ears are designed to hear sounds, there are levels of sounds that can be harmful to human hearing. Loud noises like the sound of a jet engine or a gunshot can bring about irreparable damages to your ears such as hearing loss, Meneire’s Disease and tinnitus. Try to avoid getting exposed to these noises and staying in places that emit loud sounds like disco clubs and concerts. However, if you cannot possibly avoid these noises and these places, always make sure to wear the right protection such as earmuffs and always try to do the right precautions in protecting yourself from everyday noise. Aside from that, try to minimize the use and the volume of audio devices like radios, mp3 players, ipods and mobile phones.

Keeping yourself healthy is also one of the preventive measures that you should take. Try to have a healthy diet and make sure to include foods that can make your ears healthy like those that are rich in Zinc, Magnesium and Vitamin B. Aside from that, try to stay away from habits that can weaken your immune system. These habits include drinking alcohol and coffee, smoking and taking dangerous drugs.

There are various diseases that can affect human hearing. Some of them are tinnitus, earache, hearing loss, otosclerosis, ear infection, Meneire’s Disease and Acoustic Neuroma. Once you experience symptoms of these diseases and ear conditions, make sure to consult a professional. Some of these diseases are caused by other health problems and although there are remedies like a natural treatment for tinnitus available to alleviate them, it is very important to identify what causes a particular ear disease to be able to get the most appropriate treatment for it.
