There are plenty of ear conditions that can make it difficult for you to accomplish even the simplest chore. There is one kind of inner ear disorder that does not only target or affect our hearing but also our balance. This kind of ear disease is called Meniere’s Disease.
Unfortunately, the real cause of Menieres Diseas has not yet been established however its effects on our ears are almost the same in every case. The most common signs and symptoms of this ear condition are as follows:
1. Tinnitus – tinnitus or more commonly known as ringing ears causes an incessant noise in one or both ears. It may sound like a ringing, clicking, buzzing, chirping, whooshing, hissing or roaring.
2. Hearing loss – since it generally affects the inner ear, those who have this condition suffer from or experience some degree of hearing loss. Some people may be unable to hear only low frequency sounds but some may not be able to hear anything at all.
3. Vertigo – this is one of the most alarming symptoms of Meniere’s Disease because it may occur very suddenly without any sort of warning. You may experience dizziness and a feeling that you are spinning or going to fall.
Aside from these symptoms, other people may experience headaches that could be mild or severe and they may also feel nauseated. Sadly, there is no definite treatment for this condition. However, its symptoms may be given some remedies. These remedies may include the use of devices like noise maskers or hearing aids, medications to counter vertigo and tinnitus treatments remedy.
