Hearing Loss from Loud Noise
In today’s advance and modern world wherein people are always exposed to the latest high-tech gadgets, the value of simple bodily care have been neglected. One of which is a very pressing issue for medical researchers and health aware people. Being always exposed to technology and its effects on the people has long lasting symptoms and effect in human body. One example is exposure to too much noise that many devices or machines generate. This would probably cause hearing loss from loud noise.
One vivid example wherein this is common and obvious is the use of IPods. Everywhere you go, when you look around in public places, people always have their IPods on them. Listening to music at a high volume is already considered noise. This would definitely result to hearing loss from loud noise. What makes it more unsafe is that when you are in a public place, there are many outdoor sounds that are louder than the music that plays on your IPod. The tendency is that you would then turn on your volume to full so that the music you are trying to listen masks out the sounds that happen all around you. This irritates and destroys your hearing sense more since your ear can only stand so much noise.
One indication wherein you are indeed in the process of experiencing hearing loss is when you start to have a sensation of buzzing ears ringing with a sound that only you can hear. This situation is what is more commonly known as tinnitus.
Tinnitus is a hearing disorder. It is somehow more like that of a symptom than a disease. There are many causes for this symptom. One of which is obviously being exposed to loud noise. Speaking of which, another situation wherein people commonly disregard or ignore is their constant use of cellular phones. Whether it be by putting the earphone directly to your ear or using a headset, this would somehow destroy your sense of hearing if done constantly and with very loud volume.
There are many causes of ringing ears or tinnitus. Therefore it is always important to exercise modulation and moderation in using your sense of hearing.
