I downloaded this book for my husband, Peter who recently suffered hearing loss in his left ear with accompanying tinnitus. He had just learned that he would not recover his hearing and worse that the tinnitus would not go away.
I downloaded Ellen’s book and gave it to him to read. He read it all in a couple of hours which was surprising to me since he rarely sits still to read anything!
We are still waiting for a specialist to confirm how he lost his hearing (although we suspect it may be from the noisy environment he recently started working in) so have not yet ordered any remedies.
The book has helped him to understand a little more of what happened to him and more importantly that he shares this with so many other people. He is fortunate in that it has not interfered with his sleep and this book has helped to make him see the positive sides to this affliction.
Thanks Ellen and John!

I have not taken any medicine, but I did start taking honey and cinnamon, about a week ago. Have not seen any help, as of this time, but planning on continuing the honey and cinnamon, to give it a fair chance. My problem came from working around machinery, high speed and refinery noise. Am wearing hearing aids now, but sure would like to get rid of the ringing in ears. Willing to try anything.

Have not tried any medication for the ringing in both ears. Started the cinnamon and honey, a few days ago, to see if it would help. Have seen no results, but plan on giving it a fair trial. Hearing loss came from working around machinery, in a refinery. Been retired 19 years and ringing seems to be getting worse. Am willing to try anything.

Ellen’s book (downloaded version) has started a chain reaction in my awareness of Tinnitus. I am thankful for the information presented in this book, as it is creating an awareness of all the unnecessary sounds that I have allowed in my hearing range. I have hearing loss due to many ear infections as a small child. Although the ringing is due partly to this hearing loss, I’ve learned in this book that much of the ringing has been caused by unnessary noise that I have subjected myself to. Ellen’s book has helped me be more aware of everyday sounds and how they affect me. I have taken steps to remove myself from loud situations or at least use ear protection, when able.
I also appreciate the information about diet and overall health and am making progress toward taking this into consideration as I begin my overall improvement. Thank you for such a wonderful publication and email contacts. These emails seem to come at such a great time for me to reflect on new ideas and thoughts.
Blessings,
Kalene

I have had ear ringing for over 50 years. It started when I worked at the telephone commmpany and used a head set to test equipment. I have never taken anything for it. I basically try to ignore it.

My tinnitus has come from a combination of things. At the time, I was involved in a car accident and had whiplash from it, we were in the process of building a second story to our home and had a tremendous amount of stress at work from my supervisor who was trying to get me fired. Already, I was suffering from panic attacks/anxiety/depression for the second time when I lost my father. I had lost my mother a few years before when all of this was happening. I also had been diagnosed with thoracic outlet along with bi-lateral carpel tunnel syndrome. So, I suspect that mine was mostly stress induced, although, too at the time I had joined a choir and was exposed to a lot of loud singing. This I really enjoyed, though. Although, a source of stress too because I could not drive myself and had to rely on others. Anyhow, I want to thank you for your book because it did help me realize that my T came from all of this and am motivated now to seek further help. I am very tired of this condition and seem to only get some relief when I use ear plugs. I have it only on my left ear but it takes a toll on my life. I am very irritable because of this condition and hope to find at least a way to reduce it. I am willing to try anything to help myself because for me it causes me to have trouble with my memory, I can’t think straight, suffer with depression and anxiety and panic attacks still. Having this T prolongs the healing process Your book is very informative and I will do my best to apply it in my life, as I am tired of dealing with this problem in my ear.

The book has helped me to identify a possible cause of my tinnitus. I have fluid in the ear, which is hard to eliminate due to its quick return upon alergy season. It is nice to know I am not alone and your book and website continues to be a source of knowledge for me.

Ellen,
I did read your book and enjoyed it a lot. It was full of informtion that was interesting to read. When I downloaded the book, I had discovered my Tinnitus about a couple of months before. I am quite sure that mine came from an ear infection that I had because shortly after that is when I realized my ears were hissing for the first time without stopping. I told my wife about it and since she didn’t experience it, not much was said about it. Now I mention to her at times that my ears are ringing very loud. I don’t have health insurance so going to the doctor is out of the question and so I just put up with it. I have discovered years ago that I tolerate pain quite well. Although this is not real pain, it is very anoying. I know that someday I will be able to go to the doctor and have one diagnose this for me but until then I will live with it. I know that I have not had a head injury and I am not an overstressed person at work or at home, and I don’t listen to music real loud so I really think mine came from either an infected ear or cochlear damage however that could have happened. Anyway I will try some of the herbal meds and vitamines that you mentioned. Thank you again for your concern with my Tinnitus.

You ad promised a ” dirt cheap ” test to determine what kind of tinnitus one
has , yet I didn’t find it in the book . A fundamental concern people have ,
and apparently instrumental in selecting the right course of treatment .
Perhaps you could ad this information to your book if you have it .
Let me know . Thanks
Hello Richard,
I believe you have our “ad” confused with some of the spammy ads for the cure for tinnitus book, that book is not ours. I know it has about 25 lines of double spaced fluff that is of virtually no help to anyone because I also bought it!
Ellen’s book took her three years to compile, has no double spacing and the latest version has 130 pages of information, links to tinnitus support groups, and much, much more.

2006 was my “intro” to “tinnitus”, I was standing outside speaking with someone, when I started hearing this “like radio wave frequency sound”. I asked my friend if he could hear it, he said “no”. It did bother me for a couple of nights, but I pushed it to the back and kept myself busy. Having a background noise helped me to take my mind off my “radio waves”, but sometimes it sounded like a “plagued forest of cicadas” just roaring in my head.
I have “osteo arthritis” in both knees and hands and through the “magic of INTERNET” I scrolled through pages and pages of great information. I have learnt to exercise the muscles around my knee joints, and hands with special exercises, making them stronger and feeling better. Now, reading how your sound therapy works, it totally makes sense, I have to try it ASAP. This is great how everything ties in to the same thing!! Pls, I would love to do this from start to finish, thank-you, for making it clear.

Thanks much John and Elle.
Your book was wonderfully nice and helpful to me. I have now discovered the source of my tinnitus through reading it. It is a book of medical EXPERTS. It has so wide scope in covering all types of tinnitus sources and remedies.Through it I have now discovedrred that by the contact to stormy wind the strong noise must have caused damages in my cochlea as I have a continuous HISSING noise in my both ears. Please send me medicine for therapy.

The book helped so much I try to ignor the ringing.I now have hearing aids I do find that they help. But would be great if there was something else out there to help

Hi, The book is a must for Tinnitus sufferers, it explains every avenue of how and why so many of us have ended up with this awfull ailment and covers many ways of how best to deal with it and things to try for relief, I have had many conversations with Ellen and I put my trust in her, she is by far the best sorce of information in this subjuect that I have come across and is always there when I want her, although there is no known cure for the big T I never stop trying things to help myself, but knowing tall the facts is a help on it’s own which I have to admitt is down to reading Ellens book, it really does tell the whole story. Hi Ellen –
When my tinnitus became so unbearable this past summer, I looked for relief on the Internet. Your site was the only one that I felt was there to truly help me, to help other tinnitus sufferers.
Even though I’ve read your wonderful book more than once, I continue to re-read parts of it as a reference, especially on those loader tinnitus days. I keep it on my computer’s desktop. It helps to know that I’m not alone; moreover, it encourages me to be hopeful that the tinnitus will become quieter.
I think I was destine to have tinnitus. As a very young child my mother would make sounds in my ears, not to be abusive, but as a way to show love. I remember it would tickle my ears. Then when I was in my teens, I experienced clogged ears. To ‘clean’ my ears of the earwax, my Dr. would fill a large metal plunger with water and push the water into my ears. It didn’t hurt but the pressure would feel as though the water was going to come out my eyes. I hated having this procedure done. It seemed like I had to have it done every six months or so. The too much earwax waned over the years but I still experience my ears clogging up from time to time. As most young adults, I too would listen to music loud. About 12 years ago I had Lyme disease. As you’ll read in Ellen’s book, Lyme can cause tinnitus. I also have had two viruses that have gone into my inner ears.
I can’t recall when the tinnitus started. I think I’ve had it for many years. I use to think the sounds I would hear at night where just normal night noises.
Ellen’s book encouraged me to try her remedy for cochlea damage; her book encouraged me eat better, and to get in more exercise. Currently, I’m in my forth month of the remedy for cochlea damage and I’m starting to notice quieter days. Yippee.
I’ve had the honor to speak with Ellen twice. She’s wonderful person and she knows how to listen – she’s understands for she’s been there. Ellen says, “be positive, be persistent, and be patient.”
Thank you, Ellen – Linda

I got my ear problems 2 yers ago at a night club. Since then I’ve tried some different kinds of threatment for the noises in my right ear ( I have increased sensitivity to sharp sounds also ) and things now are far better than the problems I had back then. I read Ellen’s book and was surprised to see that caffeine is to be avoided in such situation, so I qiut drinking coffee and everything else containing caffeine, and ,maybe, there’s really a direct relationship, at least in my case, between caffeine and ringing. It has not disappeared, but came to a lower level. I find the book useful because it summarizes so many important facts about tinnitus. I’m about never giving up, so I’m looking forward to trying all kinds of threatment for this condition.

I encountered a health problem last year that forced me to get back home earlier than my normal routine 4 months work, 4 weeks homeleave here in an oilfield in Algeria where i worked as a pipe fitter. I have suffered from Tinnitus for 20 months. I am 60. I am a Taxi Driver. I am currently taking the Cochlear Damage T-gone remedy. My Asian work collegue also has suffered Tinnitus for much much longer than me and just thought that her\\"screaming ears\\" was normal! That\\\’s what they call it in China. So now she is also interested in all my research and enquirys into the subject. I attend annual meetings at the ATA Sydney. I have recently had an mri scan and will see a Neurologist in 2 months. My sense is that stress and tension can have a lot to do with generating the conditions for Tinnitus, but it is only my instinct so far. Another idea I have is that some people have a genetically inherited predisposition to aquire Tinnitus under specific environmental conditions. I am one of them. An mri of the Brain matter may reveal this. I have said enough I feel. Bye for now and good luck seeking to alleviate the Tinnitus. I\’m not too bothered by it but it would be nice to have it go away.

John -
I am not sure if this message will get to you or Ellen, but will give it a try.
My tinnitus has been increasing for 10 to 15 years, but in the last year and especially the last 3 months, it has increased from just annoying to interference with my life. I scanned Ellen\’s book and note that she advises seeing a doctor to discover the cause of the tinnitus. I can do this – although am not very hopeful of any cooperation on their part. My primary care physician has already told me that there is nothing that can be done; therefore, I haven\’t a lot of hope a specialist will be much more sympathetic. In the meantime, perhaps if I give some information, you can determine just what I should do to get started on alleviating this situation.
I am 67 years old and have taken allergy medications for a long time – primarily Nasonex spray which I have used for probably 6 or 7 years. I used to use Zyrtec and Claratin, but someone told me about Nettle Leaves (from the health food store), and since beginning to take the Nettle leaves 2 or 3 years ago, have been able to get off the Zyrtec and Claratin.
I know of no head injury except about 10 years ago when I was in a car accident. My head was not really hit with anything, but there was a lot of body trauma. I have never liked loud noises. Loud noise seems to overload my nervous system and I try to avoid it at all costs.
I drink a little coffee, one coke on the way to work each morning, and approx. 8 oz of red wine each night.
As for the stress, I am a psychotherapist in a children\’s and adolescent psychiatric facility, and yes, the stress is high – especially now, when budgets are being cut and more families are experiencing financial stress.
I describe the sounds in both ears as a field of crickets; however, whereas I used to be able to hear individual crickets, now it is just a high-pitched din. The noise prevents me from sleeping and according to your website, may be the cause of my increasing despondency and depression.
I have read to drink more water, stop the caffine and alcohol, eat more red meat and green vegetables, get more exercise. Now what? I am prepared to order some of the homepathatic medications from your website, but not sure what to order – or do I need to see a doctor first?

Hi Max
I answered your question in a personal email
February 6, 2009
Marylin,
You describe the noises you hear as “the sounds in both ears as a field of crickets” – this is without doubt tinnitus from cochlea damage. The causes of cochlea damage can vary greatly and I would advise to to read this page http://www.t-gone.com/noise-tinnitus.htm – It seems that you have had tinnitus for many years but only now is it becoming invasive. Because of this it is likely you will need to take the remedies for at least 3 months, and maybe longer. Ellen took them for 8 months before the noises had reduced to levels that were no longer a problem for here.
