New Treatment for Tinnitus

By Jane On May 21, 2009 Under Tinnitus Articles

T-Gone Tinnitus Point For Today: Restoring ones own total health and fitness, because of improved diet and also added exercising, would likely of course help ones tinnitis.

New treatment for tinnitus works contrary to what many critics say. Alternative treatments are often attacked with criticisms due to questions about their efficacy. Nevertheless, such cures proved helpful when nothing else can.

Maureen had a severe cold two years ago and noticed that her ears started ringing. The ringing came and went. When it comes there was nothing she could do about it but hope it would go away soon. However, it was getting frequent and she even wakes up on several mornings with the ear ringing. When she visited a doctor, she was directed to an ear specialist who said she had tinnitus. As a preschool teacher, having tinnitus is such a bothersome thing for her. There were days the ringing became so loud that she was so irritable (and she could not tell whether it was due to the kids running around or because of the ringing, or perhaps both). She became increasingly worried especially when her specialist could not offer quite anything that stops the noises. She used a noise masking device for about a month, but wearing it made her feel really self-conscious and uncomfortable.

For many people with ear ringing, claiming back their normal hearing has been nowhere near possible. Treatments do their best at lessening the noise inside the ears and improving comfort. A variety of treatments are available. Doctors prescribe medications to help patients cope with depression and distress. Ear maskers and hearing aids help patients mask off the ringing and hear better. For people who have tried drug therapies and sound maskers, new treatment for tinnitus could be a better way.

After being into antidepressants and some electronic devices attached in the ears, some patients still are groping around for other remedies. Medical science has not yet come up with a truly effective way to cut the ringing off. The newest treatments are actually the oldest, yet “forgotten,” treatments. Today the effectiveness of herbs and natural remedies for tinnitus is being recognized. It is like we are going back to the basics.

Many people are dubious about the effectiveness of homeopathy as a treatment for tinnitus. It is not actually new. The treatment came back as a result of patients looking for new ways because many visits to doctors and bottles of pills do not seem to offer relief.

Not more than a year ago, Maureen tried a homeopathic remedy which she had heard somewhere or from someone she barely remembers. Anyway, after using the natural cure she noticed some relief in six months. The ringing became less frequent and just recently it was reduced to an undertone. Maureen says natural remedies do not work right away. One has to be patient. The new treatment for tinnitus though is not new after all, does work. Yes, it does.
