By jeffreyb On July 15, 2009 Under Tinnitus Relief

The world is louder than it was in our grandparent’s time and due to the excessive noises all around us tinnitus is becoming a part of our vocabulary. It is easy find articles on treating the symptoms of this challenging, but common, ailment but perhaps there is a more proactive way to go about avoiding tinnitus.

If you work in an environment that has a lot of noise protect your ears. Use earplugs or even headphones to protect yourself from the loud sounds in the place you make money. Some people have a higher tolerance, or are too stupid to care, about taking the steps to keep their ears in healthy working order for a life time of good hearing. Set the example and use those plugs provided or buy your own.

Stay healthy. Believe it or not the ringing in your ears which is called tinnitus can be a sign of other health challenges like your heart. Don’t wait until you have a problem to pay attention to eating well, exercise and rest. Do it now your body can’t wait.

Finally the last suggestion to be made is to check to make sure your prescription and over the counter drugs could be causing tinnitus. Some medications have side affects and it is up to you to verify with your doctor or pharmacist if something you have been taking to deal with another health issue could be causing the tinnitus. You don’t have to live with tinnitus if you start today.
