Hearing loss, War memories, and the troops
Al Tompkins, from the Poynter Institute, links to several sources for more information on hearing loss today (second item in the column), relating to the recent reports that The Who’s Pete Townshend has warned I-Pod users that the constant use of ear buds connected to the devices (or similar devices) can cause ear damage over the long run. This looks like a serious problem, and it’s something young people don’t worry about. It’s one that someone like me who attended lots of rock concerts and who now suffers from tinnitus, thinks about a lot, though.
