Dear Mr. Currie.

When I first came across a link to your products for Tinnitus, to be straight forward honest with you, I did Order but had fully expected that I was 99.9% throwing my money away.

I guess for many reasons I have automatic doubts about many things that I come across.

My Tinnitus is the result of going to a Rolling Stones concert a good 35 years ago. In fact I had went to the very best Ear, Nose, and Throat Doctor in my area, and though he didn’t use my name, he wrote an article in the local Newspaper, referring to what he called “Rolling Stones Tinnitus”.

I am finding your comment about tinnitus most interesting. I am one who used to get very severe migraine headaches. The headaches have pretty while stopped and seem to have been replaced by tinnitus. I am also deaf in my left ear since a very young age, possible born that way.

I also have a problem with hyperacusis and testing shows more of a reaction in the deaf ear.

A door slamming etc. can trigger tinnitus at times. This has caused my many problems in work situations where I tend to react to noises that have no effect on others. I have been told many times that I am just trying to cause trouble when at times I have been made dizzy by such noises. This got to a point that I had to refuse to give certain people rides because of car doors being slammed.

This brings me to my question. It seems to be that my tinnitus is greatly influenced by the weather and in fact I can detect a coming storm by it. Is it common for tinnitus to be triggered by an approaching area of low pressure? If so what remedy would you suggest?

When you are suffering from a hyper sensitivity to noise as you are it is caused by cochlear damage. This also causes hearing loss and tinnitus. But you will already probably know that.

Many people suffering from hyperacusis tend to avoid social gatherings as loud or sudden noises can actually cause physical pain and yes, the people look a you as if you are crazy. I remember my Dad who served in the 2nd World War had it badly and would often walk around at family gatherings with toilet tissue hanging out of his ears.

I used to joke about it and we all thought he was just being a part pooper or seeking attention. My poor Dad, and he used to take in in good cheer as well.

I’m writing to see if you can recommend a treatment for my form of tinnitus. Ive almost certainly induced tinnitus as a drummer, cruelly ironic as i bought myself an electronic kit so as not to annoy my neighbours with an acoustic(real) one.

I played them and the sound i heard was via headphones, I realise now that although I dont think i played loud I did used to practice for long periods( 3 hours+) and have inadverntantly caused my problem.

I don’t feel my hearing is affected too much-but sadly quiet times, particularly bedtime are now horrendous with a high pitched white noise ringing in both my ears (although this varies to be predominately the right ear) either way i feel Ive ruined my life over simple ignorance.

I’m only 40 and cant bear the thought of x years of suffering in front of me - my enjoyment of life has been dimmed without doubt. I no longer play but the damage is done. Worse I seem to have become preoccupied if not obsessed by its presence and Ive become stressed and the ringing does seem worse as a result.

Lately when Ive got into bed and its at its worse if I close my eyes and concentrate I can seem to attenuate the volume of the pitch down? Do you think t-gone may help and if so which product would be most suitable?

Hello Richard, You are correct in your assessment that it is the exposure to noise that has caused you tinnitus problem! 3 Hours at a time would certainly do some harm to those sensitive inner ear organs.
