Tinnitus From Cochlear Damage

By John On July 1, 2009 No Comments

Hello John,

Thank you for the info.  I was attached to a 280mm Atomic Cannon outfit when I was in the service.  I used to wonder why they had us make sure the sides of the tents were rolled up, and the windows of all the trucks rolled down before we fired the gun, and did not give us ear protection.

That was in ‘59-’60, but I did not get the tinnitus until 1992, so it may be from another cause.

Dan Ryan

Hiya Ryan,

Your tinnitus is without doubt caused from cochlear damage as a result of your exploits in the army. Absolutely crazy that no hearing protection was deemed necessary back then.

You will find that something, an event, probably happened to trigger the tinnitus when it started. This could be amongst other things things, traumatic life events, stress and even an ear infection.

But the root cause of the tinnitus is the exposure to noise which caused the cochlear damage. You can get more information about that tinnitus type as well as the remedies to treat it at the noise tinnitus page.

Regards,

John

What Can I Do To Naturally Improve My Hearing Loss?

All of us are born with five sense organs and one that we neglect most throughout our life is our sense of hearing. This is mainly because we do not notice problems with hearing as they happen so slowly. These problems if not treated in time can lead to hearing loss and tinnitus. The initial sign of hearing loss can be tinnitus. Tinnitus is perception of continuous or intermittent humming or buzzing sound, when in realty this sound does not exist. Untreated tinnitus can lead to hearing loss. Tinnitus treatment involves use of oral and local antibiotics, pain relieving medications, cleaning of external ear, and even surgery.

Allergy Shots For Tinnitus

By julius On January 23, 2009 No Comments

Tinnitus is an annoying medical condition that may be a symptom of some underlying health condition. The noises or sounds one hears may vary, ranging from a low hum, a constant hissing, or a high-pitched shriek.  These days, there are a number of conventional and alternative treatment forms for alleviating this disorder.  The ringing in the ears may also be relieved through a few homeopathic, New-Age therapies and natural tinnitus relief methods.  There has also been a positive effect noted with the use of allergy shots for tinnitus, as these shots have been analyzed to help ease the other factors that cause the onset of the buzzing and ringing sounds.

Tinnitus is a common disorder today, and it’s a fact that almost one in five individuals experiences a mild form of tinnitus that lasts for a few minutes once in awhile.  But then again recurring tinnitus may be quite annoying and stressful, and may impede or fully interfere with a person’s ability to sleep or concentrate at work or school.  Different types of allergies may also cause the outbreak of tinnitus. Some allergies have been known to cause high blood pressure, necessitating the need to take the appropriate allergy shots for tinnitus, as well as for reducing high blood pressure.  Some physicians suggest that patients use nasal sprays like Rhinocort or Flonase, which are effective antihistamines.   However, if nasal sprays won’t do the trick, then an allergy shot should probably help to ease the accompanying tinnitus symptoms.

In looking for the right allergy shots for tinnitus, sufferers should first consult with their physician, and have the appropriate sets of audiological and hearing tests done, to determine the right medication for the ringing ears.  Your doctor may also have the tinnitus sounds masked by utilizing competing sounds such as low-level sound pitches or noises provided by the sound-masking devices. May health experts point out that tinnitus is usually more noticeable when the person goes to bed at night, since the surroundings are much quieter. For a patient to sleep soundly at night, a white noise machine or a dehumidifier may be used to make the symptoms less irritating. There are also natural tinnitus cure treatments and remedies for allergy caused tinnitus you can checked out t-gone.com.
