Tinnitus Cure Web Site On The Internet - Scams?

Normally it is not good business practice to talk about one’s competitors but I have been getting so many emails asking about this particular matter that I decided I need to check it out and report back to our readers.

The emails all referred to a web site curefortinnitus dot com which is marketing an ebook by Geoff Barker that offers you 11 proven tinnitus cures that work in less than 2 weeks…

Well, it sounded so wonderful that I just had to check it out and here are my findings:

In my opinion this site curefortinnitus dot com is simply a site designed to milk tinnitus sufferers and it does a really good job of it.

I bought the book - it is 24 double spaced pages of large type that cost me $37.00!

A complete waste of my money and my time!

There is simply nothing of substance in the book to justify the cost.

I certainly could not find any of the proven tinnitus cures he speaks about at his website.

I decided to check some of the claims he makes at his web site against what is actually written in his book.

“I have put every Tinnitus remedy to the test and now the results are in… “ - If he has tested any remedies he is keeping those results a closely guarded secret - no results are even made mention of in the book!

“The best treatment for YOU (Get a personalized treatment on page 8)” - This sends you via an affiliate link to another web site that sells Brainwave audio products. This is the best tinnitus treatment for you? This is just to milk some more money out of tinnitus sufferers via his affiliate check.

“The fastest way to STOP the ringing noise (discover this at page 9)” - Absolutely nothing about stopping ear ringing noises quickly just a general description of tinnitus…

“Get the 6 secret recipes that can stop YOUR Tinnitus (Look at this breakthrough on page 15)” - Well as hard as I looked, I couldn’t find a breakthrough! Just some homeopathic ingredient information that are said to have some benefit to tinnitus sufferers. This same information is available at all of the T-Gone product pages and our producy ingredient listing pages.

“Prevent Tinnitus the easy way (I bet you didn’t consider this every time you went to work! Live by the rules on page 17)” - Here are his rules “By far the most effective remedy is to lead a healthier lifestyle. As we mentioned before, paying close attention to diet and exercise, not smoking or drinking in excess, and simple lifestyle changes can do wonders for tinnitus.”

Maybe he read Ellen’s Free book on tinnitus which contains no fluff and is 120 pages long?

Proven remedies that can work for you. Choose from 11 Tinnitus remedies that you can perform yourself, right now in the office or at home. (Get hold of this priceless information on pages 18 - 24!) - Again this is just hype! I found no remedies to choose from…

And here are his remedies:

Diet And Exercise: This has already been stated, but a healthier lifestyle is a surefire way to reduce your symptoms over the long run.

Record A Soothing Sound: Many people notice that certain sounds help to alleviate the symptoms of their tinnitus, take running water for example. If you notice your tinnitus goes away when you’re taking a shower, record it and take it with you.

Reduce Stress: Stress can really cause your tinnitus to flare up. Take time to relax, take some deep breathes, and do something that you really enjoy and find relaxing.

Avoid Loud Noises: Again, common sense. But tinnitus can get worse over time. There is no reason to continue exposing yourself to loud noises and running the risk of aggravating your condition.

Chew Dried Fruit: Not only is chewing dried fruit healthy, but it can also help to stimulate vascular activity around the inner ear and reduce your symptoms overall.

Avoid Aspirin: Aspirin can be great as an antiinflammatory drug, but studies show that aspirin may also increase the symptoms of tinnitus. So if you need an antiinflammatory, try a different medication.

I actually only see six suggestions there, certainly no proven tinnitus cures as his hype suggests.

The sad thing is that this website is selling thousands of copies and each one of those people is left feeling totally ripped off.

And who can blame them.

I certainly felt ripped off and I was only doing some research!

There are literally hundreds of his affiliates selling this book all over the internet.

If you do a Google search for tinnitus or tinnitus cure and you will most likely come across at least 3 or 4 of his affiliates all trumpeting how his secret 11 tinnitus cures will cure your tinnitus in 2 weeks, or less!

Judging by the number of affiliates he has selling it, and the ClickBank blurb where he entices affiliates to promote this rubbish he is definitely out to make a killing!

Next I went along to ClickBank to see what he offers his affiliates. Below is the exact text in Clickbank where you can signup as one of his affiliates:

Cure For Tinnitus - Help People Stop The Ringing In Their Ears. Conversions A Great With This Niche Product. Get In Early And Make A Killing.

I think that says it all for me, “GET IN QUICK AND MAKE A KILLING!”

What a scam, I’ll be asking for my money back.

There is more information about tinnitus and it’s causes on the front page of t-gone.com than in the whole of the 24 pages of this so-called book.

Below are some of his affiliate sites that sell his book which I found by doing a Google search for tinnitus.

What one person describes as a “high pitched ringing” could well be described by another as a “whistling” or even as a “continuous screaming in my ears.”

Describing the noises that tinnitus sufferers hear is thus really open to the individual’s interpretation. For this reason one cannot always rely on the noises that you hear and describe, to correctly determine the tinnitus type or cause with any degree of certainty.

Having said that, our dealings and communications with countless thousands of tinnitus sufferers over the years has enabled us to pinpoint the most common tinnitus noises associated with certain causes of tinnitus with a fair degree of accuracy.

The tinnitus noises and causes described are based on success stories and testimonials we have received from clients who have found relief using a particular remedy to relieve tinnitus that was causing them to hear certain distinct sounds.
The first tinnitus cause we will discuss is tinnitus from cochlear damage which can be the result of:

exposure to noise

a blow to the head – either from a fall, a motor accident or even the airbags inflating in a motor accident

an ear wax removal gone wrong

sports injuries

dental or head surgery

ear or nasal passage surgery

middle ear infections and fevers

inner ear infections and problems

Those life events all can lead to cochlear damage which causes the following tinnitus sounds to be heard:

ringing of bells bells

chirping sounds

sounds like cicadas or crickets

roaring, hissing and fluttering sounds

Where people have experienced traumatic life events or live very stressful lives the following sounds are reported:

whizzing sounds

rushing sounds like water in a waterfall

ear ringing

high pitched whistling

Where people have experienced continued Sinus or Allergy Problems the following sounds are reported:

Clucking or cracking sounds

Gurgling, whirring sounds

a ringing tone in the affected ear which comes and goes periodically, lasting a few seconds at a time.

You can use these noises to identify the cause of your tinnitus with a fair degree of accuracy however you must also take into account the life events that could have lead to your tinnitus problems, and then to make an informed decision as to the cause of your tinnitus.

Why is identifying the cause of the tinnitus so important?

Well, it is vitally important because once you have pinpointed the cause of your tinnitus; you can then order the correct remedy to treat the tinnitus.

For an in depth view of the causes of tinnitus and the types of tinnitus we can successfully treat, you can visit http://www.t-gone.com/tinnitus/

This is John Currie and I look forward to your comments and suggestions forfuture tinnitus tips.

Hello John,

Thank you for the helpful reminders concerning the use of Ipods and MP3 players. You’re absolutely right, of course. These devices are real assets when used properly, but when they are turned up too loud they become real liabilities.

The reason I’m writing is to ask about something else regarding iPods and MP3 players. I was wondering if it is recommendable to use these devices for tinnitus masking purposes? I’ve come across several websites that advertise white noise and other sounds that can be downloaded in MP3 format and which can then be transferred to one’s iPod for listening on the go.

Audiologists also provide such devices to tinnitus patients, calling them “white noise sound generators” (WSG). These are state of the art devices and they are customized for each user. The only problem is that they are prohibitively expensive. So for masking purposes I was wondering if in your view the WSG’s could well be the equivalent of MP3 players?

You may have concluded I’m a believer in sound therapy as being an effective treatment modality for subjective tinnitus. Indeed, I subscribe to the principles of using sound therapy/enrichment as explained by Jasterboff andHaskel in their neuro-physiological model for tinnitus.

This is not to say I automatically discount the effects of homeopathic or other remedies. However for the time being I am giving sound therapy a go, and so I was wondering if you would be good enough to answer my questions above, concerning the use of iPods and white noise (low broadband) versus the use of the WSG’s.

Thank you for your website and its always informative tips and suggestions regarding tinnitus. I appreciate and admire you for all your selfless support, outreach and encouragement for those of us who experience tinnitus.

Peter Rossner
Montreal, Canada

Hello Peter,

We have many thousands of clients who believe in, and indeed find temporary relief from tinnitus using white noise to mask those continual tinnitus noises. They use it to get to sleep at night, to concentrate while reading or simply to forget the noise for a while while they are working.

I am of the opinion that most of these really expensive devices are simply a waste of time and money and that they same could be achieved using the WSGs as you call them or even the many white noise CDs and MP3s that are available. Indeed we sometimes battle to keep up with the supply of our white noise masking CDs .

Some of these devices cost as much as $3,500 and are really little more than a glorified MP3 player preloaded with white noise “tailored” to suit your profile. Prior to releasing our CDs last year we did extensive surveys regarding tinnitus masking using white noise. It really is popular but provides only short term relief of tinnitus, a fact I am sure you are aware of.

You could for instance, buy some white noise masking CDs , copy them to your MP3 player and probably get just as much temporary relief as one of those expensive devices will provide. Indeed I have yet to hear of anyone who has got lasting relief from using these devices and we have in excess of 40,000 visitors to the site each month.

Hope this helps to clarify your thinking and thanks for the kind comments:)

John Currie

From: Ian Grant - xxxxxx@shaw.ca
To: T-Gone Remedies; John Currie
Subject: Additional tinnitus remedy information.

Thank you for your note, John. You can be assured I have read every page of your 130-page book (very well written, too).

I also went to see my doctor last week because of the heightened noise I am currently experiencing from tinnitus, and as usual he has been unable to offer any help. Nor has an ENT specialist to whom I have sought help twice.

In my case it stems from Mennieres which I have experienced in varying degrees over the past 30 years. and which has now settled in as a slight dizziness — not a lot but sufficient to cause considerable discomfort. It certainly doesn’t help when you’re trying to hit a golf ball!

So I am prepared to order one of your remedies. The problem is making up my mind which is most likely to give me some relief. But I definitely will order from you shortly.

Ian Grant

Hi Ian,

The remedy you should be considering to relieve the dizziness and reduce those heightened levels of tinnitus you are experiencing is the Meniere’s Disease remedy.

This is actually two separate and distinct homeopathic remedies, each to treat a separate condition, that work in conjunction with each other to relieve the combined effects of effects of Meniere’s disease, namely vertigo, nausea and dizziness as well as the permanent tinnitus Meniere’s disease sufferers are left with.

If the vertigo and nausea are no longer a big issue with you then you can order theone half of the Meniere’s disease remedy, which is actually the ever popular cochlea damage remed.

Meniere’s disease leaves one with permanent cochlea damage, similar the the damage one experiences after exposure to loud noises. The cochlea damage tinnitus remedy is extremely successful in quickly lowering the levels of tinnitus, depending on the length of time you have suffered with the tinnitus.

In your case (over 30 years) you will in all likelihood need to take the remedies for at least 3 months for these homeopathic tinnitus and meniere’s disease remedies to work.

Hope this helps, and let me know how the treatment goes!

Kind Regards,
John Currie

I’m a musician and an electrical engineer for a fortune 50 company and have a small business of my own as well. In my business I design guitars, music products, pre-amps and high quality digital audio products. I really NEED my ears for what I do. Being a musician, I have had “occasional” high frequency “ringing” in my ears many years ago but never ever like the horrible ringing I’m experiencing now. Years ago, I would just go to bed with the ringing and in the next morning the ringing would all be gone!

So here is how I know I received a really bad case of tinnitus just this past year. I was preparing my first exhibit for the 2008 NAMM trade show in January. Just a few months prior to January I purchased and was running a few new power tools. Specifically a power hand router for cutting grooves into the wood of solid body electric guitars. I wore eye protection but no ear protection.

The sound was loud and I don’t know what I was thinking by not providing ear protection for myself! I was a man on a mission and had to get these proto-type guitars ready for the show. The ringing came later. I was fine while at the trade show but upon returning home just two days after getting off the plane and being back on the east coast, I noticed this very loud ringing.

Now, my ears would hurt with the sounds around me. Pots and pans clanging would send me through the roof! I was really freaking out. I went to two ENT’s who said that this is a warning sign and that there is nothing that can be done about the ringing aside from the possible use of tranquilizers. This was very upsetting and unacceptable to me.

I did much due-diligence and found several sites for tinnitus along with your site. I must say I was quite skeptical and left a message on your toll free line. But when I received a call back later that same evening from Ellen and was able to explain what had happened to me, we were able to figure out the correct treatment right away. This brought me to tears because I was really relieved to understand that this is science at work and my hopes for a recovery could be true again.

I must have unknowingly really hurt my ears bad. We are talking about several weeks of working with loud routers a foot or two away from your head. I’m on my third bottle from my first 3 month supply of type-4 T-Gone and have just ordered another course of type 4 extra strength.

It has been quite slow but I can say that the treatment has been making a positive difference. Back in mid January and February, the ringing was intolerable, then it got slightly better, now it seems to subside between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 AM each day.

Now, I ask myself is this an intolerable day or a tolerable day? I’m having more tolerable days and really want my ears back. I still have a ways to go and continue to ask for God’s help, help from my family and friends and continue with the T-Gone treatments with the hope that it gets even better over time in reducing the ear sensitivity and ringing.

Thanks for that call back Ellen,

Eric

Hi Eric,

I am so pleased to get this type of email and to be able to use it to helps others who may be skeptical as you were.

It does often help to talk to Ellen, even when you are taking the remedies, we could all do with some help

As Ellen advised you, the T-Gone Remedies are not a quick fix but many people do not realize this in today’s fast world! In your case, being a musician was most certainly the root cause of your tinnitus and the work you did with the power tools was obviously an aggravating factor.

Tinnitus resulting from noise induced cochlea damage does not happen overnight and it will take many months of patience and persistence (as you are proving right now) to get your life back to normality. But it will happen. You will notice that those good days start getting more frequent that the bad days. Keep it up!

Please just take care to wear the best hearing protection available when playing music or working with power tools to avoid new damage or to worsen the damage you have already suffered.

Congratulations Eric, your inspirational message qualifies you as a winner in our competition and will soon be contacted by Alexis who will arrange to send you a further 90 day supply of the remedies with our compliments!

Kind regards,

John Currie
