Tinnitus is a condition which does not choose its victim. It can affect both the young and old, the rich and the poor, men and women, basically anybody from all walks of life. The incidence of tinnitus amongst the older generation is understandably related to an age-related hearing loss or known as presbycusis. As a person grows old, the very fine nerve endings in our cochlea deteriorates and this leads to an irreversible hearing loss and consequently make them hear some ringing noises in the ears.

Recently however, we have noticed a sudden rise in statistics for teenagers having tinnitus. Upon consultation with their respective physicians, it was found out that most of them have tinnitus due to frequent exposure to loud noise. Parents of teenagers who are not yet part of the “tinnitus” statistics are bothered about this and would like to know how to prevent tinnitus amongst teenagers. Whether you are an adult or a teenager, loud noise is harmful to your ears, and when we say loud noise, that includes loud music.

So if you are a parent with a teenager at home and you are interested to know how to prevent tinnitus amongst teenagers, be aware that loud music is harmful to the ears and tell your child about it. We normally see teenagers banging their heads at loud concerts, listening to music in their own bedrooms with their speakers fully blasted, and lately we see them with earphones on, listening to music from their MP3/MP4 players. There could have been no problem with using earphones when listening to these portable players, but the problem sets in when the person using the portable player forgets or fails to notice that they are already listening to the music way too loud.

Teenagers need to be reminded that to appreciate the music that they are listening to, they do not really need to have the volume of their players at full volume. There is in fact a 60-60 rule to it. To be safe, it is recommended to turn the volume up to the 60% loudness only and to use the portable players only for a maximum of 60 minutes.

Hello John…

In listing the following ingredients..would you be kind enough to further explain what they mean..that is..in simple language…what they are?

thiosinamium 6x chininum sulph 3x causticum 3x pulsatilla 6x cinchona off 6x…especially “chininum sulph”

..does the “sulph” mean “sulphur?” you know..this has been a confusing time for me and I guess I am a little skeptical about “what is going on” with my tinnitus..you see..last week..would you believe I had “four days” where I thought that the tinnitis “had gone away” as they were quiet days..

then..all of a sudden..the noise came back “full blast” and it seems I have “off & on” days..that is..some days the noise doesn’t bother me as it comes across as “soft” and other days it kind of scares me..please advise..

would appreciate if you would take time with me to help me to understand “what” is happening here…thankyou..

Hello Claire,

Below is a listing of the ingredients used in the cochlea damage tinnitus remedy along with an explanation of each ingredients properties:

Thiosinaminum - is a natural chemical that is derived from oil of the mustard seed and is excellent for ringing in the ear, noises in the ears.

Thiosinaminum may also be helpful in tinnitus when the cause is from fibrous, scar tissue. Helpful with otitis media and deafness due to some fibrous change in the nerve.

Carboneum Sulphuratum - is also referred to as Bisulphide of Carbon with a chemical formula of CS2. Carboneum Sulphuratum is a clear liquid which has a distintive odor and is obtained from chemists. CS2 is made into solution in alcohol and homeopathic potencies are made from this.

Carboneum Sulphuratum helps with impaired hearing, a sensation of fullness in the ears and noises in the head. Will help when the hearing is impaired with buzzing and singing noises like a harp. Carboneum Sulphuratum successfully treats Tinnitus and Meniere’s disease.

Chininum Sulphuricum - Sulphite of Quinine - Used in homeopathy to help with buzzing, ringing, and roaring sounds that are loud enough to impair the person’s hearing. Particularly helpful with violent ear ringing, buzzing, and roaring in ears with deafness.

Pulsatilla Vulgaris - Pulsatilla belongs to the Buttercup family of flowers, native to western, central and southern Europe. When potentized homeopathically Pulsatilla diminishes acuteness of hearing, and relieves inflammation the Eustachian tubes, also relieves ringing noises in the ears.

Cinchona Officinalis - China. Peruvian Bark - Excellent in the relief of sensitivity to noise and tinnitus. Symptoms helped include ringing in the ears, humming, roaring, or ticking in the ears. Also be helpful with hearing problems.

Normally when you start experiencing those days that swing between tinnitus and the days when it is gone or you can hardly notice it, this is a sign that the remedies are working as they supposed to.

You have every reason to be relieved that this has started as it means you are on the road to recovery.

Please be patient and persistent and keep on taking those remedies!

Try to ensure that you have an adequate supply of the remedies as it would be a shame to run out and undo all of the good work you have achieved to date! It is obvious that you are slowly winning the battle against tinnitus. You will remember that Ellen took the remedies for 9 months before she stopped taking them.

Essentially once you have reached a place where the tinnitus is no longer invasive i.e. it you are no longer aware of the constant ear ringing all the time, then you will have achieved your objective.

I know they are not tinnitus cures but these remedies are the next best thing! Keep your chin up!
